Hungary unemployment rate up at 8.4pc
<b>Budapest</b> - Hungary's average unemployment rate - calculated for the 15- to 74-year-old age group - rose to 8.4pc in the three months between November 2008 and January 2009 from 8.0pc in October-December, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Friday.

The average number of unemployed was 350,800 in the 15-74 age group in the three-month period, up 13,700 from October-December. The number of unemployed rose 8,200 in one year.
The average number of employed in the age group was 3.838m in November-January, down 42,300 from October-December, and down 34,900 in one year.
